Soft tissue treatment systems and laser therapy for neck and back pains.

“I’m glad this is a light expedition compared to the others. My neck and back pains are killing me. Remember to descend slowly, and watch out for erupting magma. Did you know that everybody will experience some sort of headaches, neck pain or back pain? Only the common cold is more prevalent.”

“Are you suffering from chronic neck and back pains? Pinched nerve? Stiffness? Did you know that constant or reoccurring pain is your body’s way of telling you that a serious problem in your neck or back may exist?”

“Most people think that neck and back pains are normal part of life—caused by stress or muscle strain. And it happens so often, they ignore it hoping that it will go away. How long have you experience neck and back pains? How often do you experience the pain?”

“Remember to conserve energy whenever possible. The air is much thinner at 20,000 feet. Just follow my lead and you’ll be fine.”

Twenty minutes into the descend.

“How are you holding out? I’m sweating more than Bill Clinton on a date with Hillary. This intense heat does not do any justice for my neck and back pains. I need to rest. I can feel my tense, tight spinal muscles pulsating and spasming.”

Common Causes of Chronic Neck and Back Pains.

“I should’ve followed my chiropractor’s advice before taking on this challenge. Although neck and back pain are commonly due to mechanical problems relating to the spine, degenerative, spinal arthritis can also cause similar spinal pain. The pain is usually described as a localized, dull ache and discomfort with some stiffness. Stiffness is more noticeable in the morning and lessens as the day progresses. Certain movement may intensify the pain. Bending forward, twisting, leaning back or to the side may cause localized sharp pain. Chronic neck and back pain can lead to weakness to the muscles and spine."

"Although not as common as the mechanical neck and back pains, intervertebral disc bulge, herniation and spinal stenosis can also cause spinal pain. These conditions put pressure on spinal nerves which cause sharp shooting pain, numbness and tingling down the arms and legs.”

“Be careful. Your rope is starting to tangle. Feel this. Stringy and knotty eh! My spinal muscles feel like your tangled ropes. Are you experiencing chronic neck or back pain? If your pain doesn't get better with over-the-counter drugs, get some professional help. We better get moving. The sky is getting darker by the minute. The Fallen is on his way.”

What’s the deal with trigger points?

Trigger points are hyper-irritable spots in skeletal muscles that are associated with palpable nodules in tight, taut, ropy bands of muscle fibers. You have 650 skeletal muscles. And trigger points can develop in any of those muscles.

Muscles that are prone to develop trigger points.

Muscles that are used to maintain body posture are often affected. Constant, low-grade contraction during extended computer work, prolonged bending over or sitting and poor posture such as sleeping the wrong way causes these muscles to become ischemic. Over time the muscles in the shoulders, neck, back, buttocks and hips become tight and taut which form trigger points.

Causes of trigger points.

Acute trauma or repetitive micro-trauma, lack of exercise, prolonged poor posture, certain occupational or recreational activities and spinal joint restriction and dysfunction such as “a kink” predispose muscles in the shoulders, neck, back, buttock and hips to develop trigger points.

Back to our exciting story. Three hours later, an unidentified object was yanked from the magma stream. There's a chance to save Earth from the Fallen after all.

Least expected neck and back pains.

The neck and back are often injured during daily living and at the least expected instances. Neck pain and stiffness may result from sleeping the wrong way on the couch or in an awkward position.  Bending over to tie the shoes or to pick up a bar of soap may cause disabling back pain and stiffness.
